Watford preparing for £40 million stadium expansion
Getty Images | Vicarage Road is the third smallest stadium in the Premier League, only larger than Burnley's and Bournemouth's.
The club have taken on the stadium design firm Populous, who also worked on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, according to the Athletic.
Depending on local council approval, the redevelopment, which aims to increase the capacity of Vicarage Road from 21,000 to 32,000, could begin as soon as next summer.
